Every person in a creator workspace has exactly one role. The role decides what they can see and what they can change. The owner is always the person who created the workspace; everyone else is a member with one of three roles.
The four roles at a glance
- Owner. Owns the workspace and decides who else can use it. Can do everything.
- Manager. Runs the stream setup: studio scenes, goals, the tip page, integrations, and spoken tips. Cannot see payouts or financial records.
- Accountant. Sees tips, settlements, and statements, downloads financial records, and handles refunds. Cannot change the stream setup.
- Viewer. Can look at the workspace, its tips, goals, and scenes, but cannot change anything.
Viewer
A viewer can open:
- The workspace overview
- Tips
- Goals
- Studio scenes
- Settings, without changing them
A viewer does not get the browser source links that put a scene on a stream. While working as a viewer, the dashboard shows that your role can look but not change anything.
Manager
A manager can do everything a viewer can, and also:
- Create and edit goals
- Create and edit studio scenes, including their OBS links
- Edit the creator profile and tip page
- Change workspace notification settings
- See and connect integrations such as Twitch, Kick, and YouTube
- Set up text to speech for tips
- Browse the theme store and buy alert themes
A manager cannot see settlements, statements, or payouts, and cannot refund tips.
Accountant
An accountant can open:
- The workspace overview
- Tips, and refund them
- Goals, without changing them
- Settings, without changing them
- The theme store, without buying
- Statements and other financial records, and download them
- Settlements and payouts
An accountant cannot open the studio and cannot change goals, the tip page, or integrations.
What only the owner can do
Some things stay with the owner, whatever role a member holds:
- Payout details: where your money is sent.
- Identity verification: who the workspace is verified to be.
- Members: inviting, changing roles, and removing people.
- Closing the workspace.
If a member needs one of these done, they have to ask the owner.
When a role blocks an action
If someone tries something their role does not allow, WeTip shows "Your role in this workspace does not allow this." The owner can change their role, see Change a member's role or remove a member.
