A refund returns all or part of a confirmed tip through the original payment method when possible. Eligibility can depend on payment status, provider rules, timing, and the reason for the request.
Before requesting a refund
Find the WeTip receipt reference and confirm whether the payment is successful, pending, already refunded, or disputed. A pending authorization may disappear without a refund.
Information to provide
- the WeTip receipt or tip reference;
- the email address used at checkout;
- the reason for the request;
- whether the payment appears more than once; and
- the date and amount of the tip.
Do not send full card details, bank credentials, passwords, or one-time codes.
After approval
WeTip submits the refund to the payment provider. The provider and receiving bank control how quickly the credit appears. The original charge and refund may appear as separate entries.
If the refund is missing
Wait for the timeframe shown in the refund status, then ask your bank to search using the refund reference if one is available. Return to support if the provider timeframe has passed and the bank cannot locate it.
Starting a bank dispute while a refund is already processing can complicate or delay resolution.
