WeTip confirms that you are who your page says you are before releasing money to your bank.
The check runs on our verification partner's own secure page, so WeTip never sees or stores your identity documents.
Where to find it
Identity verification is not part of creator onboarding, and you can finish setting up your page without it.
- Open Creator workspace → Settings → Profile.
- Find the Verification status panel at the top of the page.
- Select Start verification.
You are taken to our verification partner and returned to the same page afterwards.
What you need
- A government-issued identity document that has not expired.
- A device with a camera, for a short selfie that is matched to the document.
- A few uninterrupted minutes, because a session closes if it is left too long.
What each status means
- Not started — nothing has been submitted yet, and settlements stay on hold until it is.
- In progress — you have opened the partner's page but have not finished the checks.
- In review — the partner is deciding, and nothing is needed from you.
- Verified — your identity is confirmed and settlements to your payout account can be released.
- Action needed — the previous attempt closed without a decision, or an administrator has asked you to verify again.
- Declined — the partner could not confirm your identity, and payouts stay on hold.
The panel updates on its own once a result arrives, so you do not need to refresh it.
If your verification is declined
A declined result cannot be retried from your workspace, because repeated attempts rarely change the outcome.
Contact support instead, and we will look at the result with you and reopen the check if something went wrong.
If you are asked to verify again
An administrator can ask a verified creator to complete a new check, for example when a document has expired or a detail no longer matches.
Your verification pauses while this is outstanding, the verified badge is removed from your tip page, and settlements are held until the new check is complete.
The reason is shown in the Verification status panel and sent to you in a notification.
If verification is unavailable
Identity checks are occasionally switched off across WeTip while we change providers.
Nothing is expected from you during that time, and the panel says so plainly rather than showing an error.
WeTip will never ask for your identity documents over email, chat, or a support conversation. Upload them only on the partner page you reach from your workspace.
