Choose the right role for each teammate

Match each person to the smallest role that lets them do their job, with ready-made setups for common creator teams.

The right role is the smallest one that lets someone do their job. It keeps your money and supporter details safe, and you can always give more access later.

Start from the job, not the person

Ask what the person needs to do every week, then pick the role that covers it:

  • Builds scenes, sets goals, edits the tip page, or connects Twitch and Kick: Manager.
  • Tracks income, prepares taxes, downloads statements, or handles refunds: Accountant.
  • Only needs to look, for example a sponsor or a new helper still learning: Viewer.

Every role and what it allows is listed in Understand member roles and permissions.

Common team setups

Solo creator with a stream editor

  • Your editor: Manager, to build and tweak scenes and goals.

Creator with moderators

  • Lead moderator who changes alerts and the tip page: Manager.
  • Other moderators who only watch tips come in: Viewer.

Creator with a bookkeeper

  • Bookkeeper or accountant: Accountant. They see settlements and statements and can download records, but cannot touch your stream setup.

Creator with a manager and a bookkeeper

  • Talent manager or producer: Manager.
  • Bookkeeper: Accountant.

Neither of them can change your payout details or invite other people. Those stay with you.

Tips for managing roles

  • Start low, raise later. Invite a new helper as a Viewer and change them to Manager once you trust them with the setup.
  • One person, one account. Invite each helper with their own email. Never share a single login between several people.
  • Split money from the stream setup. A manager does not need to see your income, and an accountant does not need to edit scenes.
  • Review your list now and then. Open Creator workspace → Settings → Members and remove anyone who has stopped helping.
  • Lower a role the moment a job changes. Changes take effect straight away.
