Fix member access problems

What each workspace access message means, for owners and members, and how to get past it.

Most access problems come down to the wrong account, a missing security step, or a role that does not cover the action. Find the message you see below.

For members

"You do not have access to this workspace."

You are no longer a member. The owner removed you, or you left. The dashboard returns to your own workspace. Ask the owner to invite you again if you still need access.

"Turn on two-step verification to continue."

Every member needs two-step verification on their own account. Turn it on, then open the workspace again. See Set up two-step verification.

"Your role in this workspace does not allow this."

Your role does not cover that action. For example, a manager cannot see statements and an accountant cannot edit scenes. Ask the owner to change your role. See Understand member roles and permissions.

"This invitation was sent to a different email address."

You are signed in with another account. Sign out and sign in with the address the invitation was sent to.

"This invitation is no longer open."

The link expired, was revoked, was replaced by a newer email, or was already used. Ask the owner to send it again.

For owners

"Every seat is in use."

You have 10 members and pending invitations combined. Revoke an invitation or remove a member to make room. See Manage pending invites.

"That person is already a member."

They already have access. To give them more or less, change their role. See Change a member's role or remove a member.

"Members can be invited once the workspace is approved and active."

Your creator workspace has not been approved yet, or it is not active. You can invite people once it is.

WeTip asks for a code when you invite or change a role

That is expected. Inviting someone and changing a role both ask for a fresh code from your authenticator app.

Still stuck?

Check that both of you are signed in with the right accounts, then try again. If the problem continues, contact WeTip support and include the exact message you see.
