Closing your creator workspace stops supporters tipping you and takes your public page offline. It is reviewed by the WeTip team first, so nothing closes the moment you ask.
Before you close
Once your workspace is closed, payouts stop too. Finish these first:
- Wait for your money. Open Creator workspace → Settlements and make sure no settlement is still pending or processing. A closed workspace cannot receive payouts, so anything still unpaid would need support to sort out.
- Download your records. Do this before you ask to close. Export your creator data for your tax and accounting records.
- Remove WeTip from your stream. Take the WeTip browser sources out of OBS and remove your tip page link from your channel panels and bios.
- Tell your supporters, so they know where to support you next.
Request closure
- Open Creator workspace → Settings → Close account.
- Enter your creator handle to confirm it is your workspace.
- Add a reason for closing, between 3 and 500 characters.
- Select Start review.
The page then shows your request, and Workspace state changes to show it is waiting for review. You can only have one closure request waiting at a time.
What happens next
- Closure request. You confirm your handle and give a reason.
- Review. A WeTip administrator checks your open settlements and any records WeTip has to keep by law.
- Workspace closed. If approved, tips, payouts, and your public page are turned off.
You get a notification with the decision.
If your request is not approved
The notification and the Review note on the closure page explain why, for example an open settlement that still needs to finish. Sort out what the note describes, then send a new closure request.
What closing does and does not do
When your creator workspace is closed:
- Supporters can no longer tip you.
- Your public tip page is taken offline.
- Payouts are turned off.
- Your stream alerts stop, because no new tips arrive.
Closing your creator workspace does not delete your WeTip sign-in account. Records of past tips and payouts are kept as the law requires.
