Manage tip messages

Review community messages and decide what can safely appear on your stream.

Tip messages add personality to a stream, but payment and presentation are separate. Hiding or rejecting a message does not cancel the underlying tip.

Choose a moderation approach

Messages that need attention appear with their transaction details in the creator workspace. Manual review is safer for high-visibility streams and sensitive events.

Review a message

Check the text, display name, amount, and moderation signals. Approve content that follows your community rules. Hide content that includes harassment, private information, spam, unsafe links, or attempts to disrupt the stream.

Use blocked terms thoughtfully

Blocked terms reduce obvious abuse but cannot replace human judgment. Review the list regularly, consider alternate spellings, and avoid broad rules that silence ordinary community conversation.

During a live incident

  1. Hide the message or pause the affected screen.
  2. Preserve the tip reference for review.
  3. Replace a scene URL if it was exposed.
  4. Report credible threats or targeted abuse through the appropriate safety channel.
Never repeat sensitive or abusive content in a public support request.
