Connect Twitch and Kick for subscriber alerts

Link a broadcaster account, put subscription activity on a scene, and fix a connection that stops delivering.

Twitch and Kick connect by signing in to the provider and granting WeTip access to one broadcaster channel. Once connected, new subscriptions, renewals, and gift subscriptions reach every open renderer of a scene that carries the subscriber alert.

These are live moments, not history. An alert fires for activity that happens after the channel is connected; it does not backfill what came before.

Before you connect

  • Verify your email address. WeTip refuses a channel connection until it is verified.
  • Sign in to the provider account that owns the channel, in the same browser.
  • Know that a channel can belong to one creator workspace at a time. If it is already connected elsewhere, disconnect it there first.

Connect a channel

  1. Open Creator workspace → Settings → Integration.
  2. In the Twitch or Kick panel, select Connect.
  3. Approve the request at the provider.
  4. You return to the Integration page with the channel connected and the status reading Alerts live.

WeTip asks only for what it needs to receive subscription activity: channel:read:subscriptions on Twitch, and user:read, channel:read, and events:subscribe on Kick.

Both platforms report new subscriptions, renewals, and gift activity. Only Twitch reports a standing channel subscriber total; Kick does not.

Show the alerts on a scene

  1. Open Creator workspace → Studio and either use the Subscriber alerts template or open an existing scene.
  2. Make the Subscriber alert widget visible.
  3. Position and scale it, and set its display label.
  4. Save the scene.

To confirm the layout before you go live, use Test subscription activity in the scene editor. Pick the provider, then fire a new subscription, a renewal, or gift subscriptions. Only connected providers can be tested.

Track subscribers against a target

The Subscriber goal widget turns the same connections into progress. Under Properties, choose the platforms counted and the mode:

  • Gained in a window counts subscribers gained today, this week, or this month. Renewals are not new subscribers, so they are not counted.
  • Channel total reads the standing count. Only Twitch reports one, so a Kick channel adds nothing to this mode, and the editor says so.

Set the target the bar fills towards — any whole number from 1 to 1,000,000.

Pause alerts without disconnecting

Each panel has a Subscriber alerts switch. Turning it off keeps the channel connected but stops activity reaching your scenes, which is what you want for a stream where subscription alerts would be out of place. Turn it back on when you want them again.

Disconnect a channel

Select Disconnect in the panel and confirm. Subscription alerts from that channel stop immediately, and WeTip removes the subscriptions it registered with the provider. If that removal cannot finish right away the panel reads Disconnecting and retries on its own. You can reconnect at any time.

Fix a connection that stops working

The status badge on each panel names the state, and the message under it names the cause.

  • Reconnect required — the provider's authorisation was withdrawn, usually from the provider's own connected-apps settings. Select Reconnect.
  • The connection was cancelled — you closed or declined the provider's approval screen. Try again whenever you are ready.
  • That channel is already connected to another creator workspace — disconnect it there, then connect it here.
  • Your session expired before the connection finished — sign in again, then reconnect.
  • This provider is not configured for channel connections yet — ask an administrator to enable it.
  • Twitch accepted the channel but refused to deliver alerts — Twitch only delivers to a public HTTPS address on port 443, so alerts cannot be activated from a local or plain-HTTP address. An administrator needs to check the public site URL, then you reconnect.
  • Kick could not activate alerts — confirm that webhooks are enabled with a public webhook URL in your Kick Developer settings, then reconnect.

If the connection is healthy but nothing shows on stream, check the three things in order: the alerts switch is on, the scene has the Subscriber alert widget visible, and OBS is pointed at that scene's browser source. The Last activity row in the panel tells you whether WeTip has received anything from the channel at all.
