Set your tip rules

Choose the smallest and largest tip supporters can send, and decide whether they can tip anonymously or add a message.

Tip rules control what supporters can do at checkout on your tip page. WeTip enforces them on its servers, not only in the form, so a supporter cannot get around them.

Change your tip rules

  1. Open Creator workspace → Settings → Tip rules.
  2. Set your Minimum tip amount and Maximum tip amount.
  3. Turn Anonymous tips and Supporter messages on or off.
  4. Select Save tip rules.

The Current behavior panel shows what supporters get right now. Changes take effect as soon as you save.

Minimum and maximum tip

Supporters cannot pay less than your minimum or more than your maximum.

WeTip also has its own platform-wide limits. Your range has to fit inside them:

  • Your minimum cannot be lower than the platform minimum.
  • Your maximum cannot be higher than the platform maximum.
  • Your maximum cannot be lower than your minimum.

If you enter a range outside these limits, the rules are not saved and the page tells you why.

Suggested amounts on your tip page

The quick amounts supporters can tap on your tip page must sit inside your tip range.

When you save a new range, any suggested amount outside it is removed. Check Creator workspace → Tip page → Suggested tip amounts afterwards and add new amounts if you need to.

Anonymous tips

With Anonymous tips on, supporters can choose to hide their name on a tip. An anonymous tip does not show the supporter's name on your stream, and text to speech never reads it out.

Turn it off if every tip should show who sent it.

Supporter messages

With Supporter messages on, supporters can add an optional message with their tip. Messages can show on your stream alerts and be read aloud.

Turn it off if you do not want messages at all. Supporters can still tip, just without writing anything.

To review or hide individual messages instead, see Manage tip messages.
